About INETA

INETA is run by a Board of user group leaders, elected by their peers, and supported by Microsoft Corporation and other sponsors.

Happenings Around INETA Asia Pacific (APAC)

INETA APAC now has a brand new newsletter. The focus would be on providing important information to user group leaders of events, opportunities and best practices to help grow their group and keep them updated on the activities of INETA APAC. I hope this initiative will help grow the APAC community.

New APAC Website
As many of you may have already noticed, we now have a new website which is much more user friendly. User group leaders will find it easier to place support requests directly by posting on the Leader Forum. http://apac.ineta.org

User Group Kit: We're also gearing up to send across the next User Group Kit. In order to receive this kit and the goodies in it, all leaders need to login to the new portal and verify that the shipping addresses for their groups are accurate. In addition you need to make sure that the user group logo provided by you is correct and your membership numbers are updated.

Volunteers Needed: We are looking for several volunteers to assist in the Marketing, Sponsorship, and Technology/Web Site areas. If you have time and are interested please contact vinod.kumar@ineta.org

Its always a great feeling to work for the growth and enrichment of the INETA UserGroups and Communities.
Proud to disclose that I've been a part of the INETA(apac) Volunteer Team for more than 2 years.Currently
working for Satyam Computer Services Ltd., operating out of Hyderabad,Andhra Pradesh,India - evangelizing
about INETA Initiatives/Activities and Microsoft Technologies.

    Sharing by INETA Volunteer,
    Anirudh Pucha

"I would like to share some takeaways of the last session I have conducted @ HITS GROUP OF INSTITUTIONS,Keesara,R.R.Dist on 7th Aug '06.

I kicked off with Overview of .net platform, framework,INETA achievements and Initiatives, procedure to start and manage a UserGroup/Community .More than 350 enthusiastic students from various  streams of technology such as B.E/B.Tech/B.Com/MCA and faculty attended the session which lasted for 110 minutes. They were extremely satisfied with the session and focussed more on getting thier doubts cleared.

I really enjoyed myself evangelizing technology and talking about the INETA's unending support and willingness to make the UserGroups and Communities better and bigger in technology and strength. They were very energetic , bubbling with passion to learn .net technologies and flourish as a INETA supported UG.

At the end of the session ,the UG was able to figure out the fact that,INETA(apac) have been instrumental and major spearhead for the betterment and management of several UGs and Communities. The overall feedback was excellent with lots of future expectations from INETA.They need the list of the available speakers in Andhra Pradesh from INETA(apac),resources for the UG,Books and magazines on .net
technologies. There has always been a phenomenal response/feedback Whenever INETA chips into the UserGroups or INETA (apac) Volunteers interact with the UserGroups in sessions/events/meetings. Kudos to the entire INETA(apac) Team for their valuable support and initiatives."

    With Warm Regards,
    Anirudh Pucha

Up Close with .Net Leaders

In this issue, we get up close and personal with Sanjay Shetty (President, INETA APAC) to understand what makes him tick and his passions.

Sanjay Shetty
President, INETA APAC

1. What are your visions for INETA APAC?
My vision for INETA APAC is for it to be company that supports and grows the developer community. A company which affects the lives of not just the developer community but uplifts other non-tech communities as well. An organization which doesn't depend on donations but generates income for its own operations and for supporting the developer community.

2. What does being a MSRD mean to you?
The Microsoft Regional Director program and I have now had an association of almost a decade (I complete 10 years in 2007). It is one of the most premium influencer programs Microsoft has, and it's a very limited program approximately only 150 worldwide.

3. What do you think will be the next killer application?

I don't know what the next killer application is, however I know that those solutions/applications which enable collaboration, of people and of applications, to the greatest extent possible in the simplest way, are the biggest need of the hour. The Internet has opened up the gates and made the world a smaller place, however collaboration between people, communities and applications has yet to go a long way. The killer application if any, would be the applications which make it easy such that any kind of person is able to adapt and use technology more easily.

4. If you are trapped on an island without network connectivity, what would you like to bring? Who would you like to be on the same island?
My wife :-)

5. What words of wisdom would you give to fellow user group leaders?
Most of us are technicians when we start on the process of creating a user group, technicians who want to enable larger collaboration and want to grow the community. In order to make our communities flourish we need to ensure that we the current leaders are able to grow our leader ship skills and help groom and grow the next rung of leaders who can grow the group and the community at large.
