Happenings around Asia Pacific
We've ended our first quarter for FY08 which began in July. Almost all the shipments for the last quarterly kit which contained custom t-shirts for User Groups is complete.
There are two things where we need to hear from you, what do you want to see in upcoming user group kits? What kind of specific support do you require from INETA. Towards the second item, we're working on creating a survey where we'd like your specific inputs, as always feel free to email us with any specific help you might require.
Call for Volunteers We're indebted to our existing volunteers who have helped support our mission. We encourage more leaders out there to contribute their time in order to help us support groups. To volunteer please drop an email to apac.admin@ineta.org

- SGDOTNET Usergroup Meeting
Photos by Lim Boon Tiong
The SGDOTNET UG meeting was held on 4 October 2007, at Microsoft Singapore from 6.45pm – 9.00pm. Anthony Borton and Chewy Chong captivated the usergroup members with their talk and demos on VSTS and how you can have fun with phidgets and embedded devices.
Speakers: Left - Anthony Borton (MVP, VSTS) and Right - Chewy Chong (Microsoft DE)
Best Practices for Team Based Software Development Speaker: Anthony Borton

Anthony Borton is a Microsoft MVP in Team System and has been working with VSTS/TFS since its early beta release. He has delivered much of the early VSTS training around Australia for the Microsoft Technical Readiness Team and is the convenor of the QLD VSTS Users Group.

In the talk, Anthony discussed why a highly cohesive software development team is critical to a successful project. He shared about the many different ways in which teams members (from project managers to developers and QA) can work together to help enhance team collaboration, and ultimately process success. He then showed how these opportunities can be map into Microsoft Visual Studio Team System.
Fun with Phidgets and Embedded Devices Speaker: Chewy Chong

Chewy shared about how any developer can build their own power meter with an embedded device, an amp sensor and (of course) .NET! He shared his experiences on how .Net can easily provide interface to physical sensors and motors.
