Best
Practices For
You
Presenting at large events such as
TechEd
Presenting at large events such as TechEd involves a lot
of preparation. Too many speakers leave far too much to chance. Doing a good job
does not happen by accident. In this session, Greg will share experience and
tips related to the process of getting selected, preparing content and
delivering that content. Many of the tips can also be applied to improving the
delivery of technical material in classroom or user group situations.
This session
will be delivered by Greg Low, an internationally
recognized consultant, developer and trainer. He is the country lead for Solid
Quality, a SQL Server MVP and one of only three Microsoft Regional Directors for
Australia. Greg also hosts the popular SQL Down Under podcast (www.sqldownunder.com), is a board member
of PASS (the Professional Association for SQL Server) and an author with
Microsoft Press and Rational Press. He regularly speaks at large events around
the world.

INETA APAC FY10
Planning
It's the time of the year when INETA APAC volunteers(14
volunteers) plan out strategies for the upcoming financial year, FY10, which
starts from the 1st of July 2009. up to the end of July 2010.
The INETA APAC Volunteer team has come up with ideas about new
services which we feel that INETA APAC should provide to it's member groups.
This is probably the most important feedback which you can give us, both about
our existing services and about new planned services. Please, provide
your feedback here.
Benefits for your User
Group
Sponsorship $$$ for your user
group
INETA APAC support user group events, apart from their
regular meetings, whether it's a hands on lab, seminar, conference etc. You can
use the sponsorship for event giveaways, speaker travel, venue cost etc. The
choice is yours. The maximum we sponsor a group is USD1000 per year, you can use
it all at once or split it up across events. We have a limited supply of funds,
so first come first serve is the basic principle. For more details click
here.
Free LiveMeeting account for each
group
In collaboration with Microsoft, INETA APAC is able to
offer a free LiveMeeting account to every User Group Leader. We hope that this
will prove to be invaluable to you in helping you to run successful meetings,
especially when it is not possible to get all of your members to attend the same
location at the same time. For more details click
here.
Free TechNet Plus Direct
Subscription
Like to offer each user group a free one year
subscription to TechNet Plus Direct. For more details click here.
Collaboration with Toastmasters
A
collaboration had been formed between Microsoft, PASS, INETA and Culminis, to
help members build their presentation skills. Click
here for more details.
